Participating in Dental Study Clubs

Being a member of a dental study club has gotten me more clients than any other marketing strategy I’ve ever tried—by a landslide. Collectively over the last 10 years, I’ve probably gotten about 40 clients this way and, while this method may take a bit more time than others, the clients you get are longer lasting because the relationships are based on a deeply rooted trust.
Typically, when I’ve joined a study club, I’ve been invited by a client who is the leader of the group. At times, I’ve belonged to as many as six different clubs but, since COVID, some groups never got up and running again so I’m currently a member of two: the Continuing Dental Excellence Forum which has about 35 members and a Spear Study Group comprised of about 25 people. Membership in each group costs between $2,000-$3,000 annually and each meets once a month in the evening for about three hours.
