There are people in our lives who live in the moment and react on the spot; then there are people who pause to see the larger picture, taking into account how those moments will impact the future.

Rocky Farahmand, Owner of Finesse Dental Lab, Cherry Hill, NJ, is the latter. He’s the most successful person I know and a force to be reckoned with. There have been times when I’ve found his strength to be completely intimidating but, although it may not have been apparent at the time, it was all for my betterment.

He has never once solved my short-term problems and never given me that one answer that would solve the equation I was rattling around. Instead, he’s had me work with an individual or a team from whom I could learn, leading me to the answers I sought. Through this, I’ve...
