Apollon Bouzerdan, CDT: An Educator Who Inspires

While many people have helped me during my career, the one who has made the biggest impact is Apollon Bouzerdan, CDT, Director of the Dental Laboratory Technology Program at Middlesex Community College in Lowell, MA.

As a 2002 alumnus of Middlesex, I was thrilled when, three years ago, I saw a part-time adjunct position open in the Dental Laboratory Technology program. I was bit by the teaching bug while working at CAP and participating in training courses but had never taught formally and thought the position was a long shot. When I interviewed with Apollon, he said my lack of teaching experience didn’t matter; he knew I could do the job because of my hands-on skills, which he said was essential to being an effective dental technology instructor. He believed in my potential and hired me on the spot.
