Peebles' Pride: 'When You Walk in You Can Feel it'

Rick Peebles has come a long way since he began his career as a one-man removables lab in a prosthodontist’s office more than three decades ago. His laboratory, Peebles Prosthetics Inc., has grown into a 65-person, full-service operation and, in 2013, moved into a two-story, 19,500-sq-ft, state-of-the-art facility in Lakewood, CO.
Since the building was full of cubicles and office areas, the entire space had to be gutted and remodeled into a production laboratory. Peebles worked with an architect, engineers and a construction company and the renovation process took five months.
The ground floor features a 5,000-sq-ft production area designed to maximize workflow. Since 99% of the lab’s business is local, cases are delivered by one of the lab’s seven drivers into a central disinfection room that can hold up to 200 cases.
