Family-Owned Lab Doubles Space for Education and Efficiency

After 25 years of renting the same space in Vadnais Heights, MN, family-owned Renstrom Dental Studio was ready for a change. The existing 8,000-square-foot lab had an inefficient layout, inadequate parking and limited space for continuing education. On top of that, the building had been sold multiple times which, as a tenant, created more challenges along the way. “We knew it was time to find a space of our own,” says Randi James, the third-generation owner of the 56-person, full service lab.


Eager to stay close to their current location which was an easy commute for their staff, Randi and her husband, Renstrom Co-Owner Scott James, were thrilled when, in January 2022, their primary care doctor’s office went up for sale in neighboring Lino Lakes. Not only was the building a newer construction, it was more than double the size of their existing space and already had much of the electricity and plumbing needed for a lab.
