Derby Dental Laboratory: Same Size, Better Efficiency

Since 2005, Derby Dental Laboratory, Inc., had been housed in a 20,000-square-foot building in downtown Louisville, KY. While it was a historic, unique space, it was also five stories, with different departments on each level; a dumbwaiter was used to help transport cases up and down.
After nine years, the laboratory had outgrown the facility and had to either make substantial renovations or find a new location. Since it was in a desireable neighborhood, President Reed Nunnally knew it would sell quickly and began the hunt for a new space.
“We wanted 30,000 to 40,000 square feet but it was surprisingly hard to find that size with enough parking in Louisville.
