On October 7, 2016, Ivoclar Vivadent, Inc. participated in American Cancer Society – Denim Day where employees can wear jeans to work for a $5.00 donation to benefit The American Cancer Society. Debbie LaMond & Elaine Fleming, both breast cancer survivors, have been organizing this event since 2006. Thanks to the generosity of so many employees and Ivoclar Vivadent, Inc., close to $20,000 has been raised over the last ten years. "Employees are excited to wear jeans to work and help support the campaign," said LaMond. "I'm so proud of my co-workers and our company for their commitment to this cause."

Awards ceremony with 9 finalist teams in the Spanish capital
The finalists for the IPS e.max Smile Award 2016 have been selected. Nine teams have every right to be excited to see who will emerge as winner for the best IPS e.max project.
The panel of experts has decided: for each of the three regions represented in the contest, they have selected three teams whose work they found particularly exciting. Hundreds of teams, each consisting of a dentist and dental technician, submitted their case presentations accompanied by written and photographic documentation. Now the panel only has to decide who will be awarded first, second and third place. The final results will be announced at the award ceremonies in Madrid/Spain. The ceremonies will take place on 10 June 2016, on the eve of the 3rd International Expert Symposium organized by Ivoclar Vivadent.

Ivoclar Vivadent has donated $100,000 for emergency relief and assistance in the re-establishment of dental health services.
As an expression of solidarity and a contribution to helping the people left destitute by the earthquake in Nepal, Ivoclar Vivadent has pledged $100,000 for immediate aid to the Red Cross, which is helping the survivors at the disaster scene.
In addition, Ivoclar Vivadent is in contact with its local representative and the Nepal Dental Association and will provide sustained assistance in the re-establishment of dental services in the country.
Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world. A powerful quake of 7.8 magnitude struck parts of the country on 25 April, killing more than 7,000 people and causing extreme devastation. It was the strongest earthquake to hit the Himalaya region in more than 80 years. Earlier this week, Nepal was hit again by a series of earthquakes.

As of October, laboratories that own Wieland Zenotec milling machines—Zenotec mini, Zenotec select dry machines, and Zenotec select hybrid machines—under warranty are eligible for free backup milling.
In the event of an equipment breakdown that can’t be resolved remotely by Wieland technicians, customers can send the digital design file to Wieland Precision Technology and receive the case as soon as the next day. The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) has launched “The Smile Story Contest” that will enhance the smiles and change the lives of up to five lucky people, while raising awareness about the benefits of cosmetic dentistry.
The Smile Story Contest launched April 30 at AACD 2014 in Orlando, the Academy’s 30th anniversary scientific session. Entrants will submit their smile story telling why they deserve a new smile, plus a photo, at www.yoursmilebecomesyou.com. A public voting period, June 11-June 30, will allow entrants to ask their friends, family, and social networks to vote for them. Ivoclar Vivadent announces that Sean Sexton has accepted the position of Wieland Dental Technical Sales Representative. At Wieland, Mr. Sexton will focus on sales specific to Wieland's Zenotec CAD/CAM brand. Ivoclar Vivadent AG will donate 200,000 USD to support the people in the Philippines affected by Typhoon Haiyan with immediate relief measures. A total of 100,000 USD of the donation will be provided to the Philippine Red Cross for direct emergency relief. A further 100,000 USD will be used for the re-establishment of dental health care measures for the population at large. Christoph Zeller, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, explains the company's commitment: "We feel great sympathy for the Philippine people and we share their suffering and despair. Ivoclar Vivadent has founded a subsidiary in Russia, enhancing its presence in growing markets.
The Moscow-based subsidiary was formally inaugurated on September 19, 2013. The new subsidiary will be instrumental in scaling up the company's activities in the Russian market. Managing Director Stephan Uhlmann explains: "We have restructured our marketing and sales office into a subsidiary. This means that we now have our own warehouse logistics in Russia and are able to respond to the demands of our customers with considerably more flexibility."

Since 2001, Candulor AG has organized the KunstZahnWerk® , "Art of Denture" Competition culminating with awards and participants' cases being presented at the IDS in Cologne (Germany).
In 2012, Candulor USA held the 1st North American "Art of Denture" Competition with technicians from the US and Canada participating. All finished cases were presented in Chicago during 2012 LMT Lab Day. All submitted incredible work, with Arian Deutsch (Surprise, AZ) placing 1st in the Overall category (see case pictured above) and Jack Edwards (Fullerton, CA) placing 1st in the digital documentation category.
