Survey Report: Productivity Disrupter: Remakes

External remakes disrupt production schedules, impact your bottom line and can create potentially awkward situations with dentist-clients. These frustrations are further compounded by the fact that owners and managers feel the majority of them are beyond the lab’s control despite their internal QC efforts. Specifically, respondents to LMT’s 2024 Remake Survey say more than 80% of external remakes are due to dentist error. This percentage has remained consistent since our 2011 and 2018 Remake Surveys and, as in the past, the underlying cause is most often inadequate impressions and incorrect shades.
