A hybrid printing/milling process and laser milling were operational at the show.
While printing and milling each have their strengths and weaknesses, the ideal technology for dental laboratories would be a system that can do both; on display at the IDS was a new hybrid manufacturing process featuring that combined workflow. A chrome-cobalt dental implant was printed with Concept Laser’s Mlab cusing 200R printer and post processed with Datron’s C5 milling machine; Follow-Me!’s hyperDENT® Hybrid Module software facilitated both processes and Fresdental’s customized dental libraries and scan bodies were also used.
The technology will be available to the U.S. market, although there is no launch date yet. Fresdental will be offering a service to create customized implant libraries based on a customer’s needs and requirements,...
