Dentsply Sirona Opens CEREC System, Expands Implant Portfolio

With a dozen booth locations spread throughout the exhibit halls, Dentsply Sirona had a significant presence at the show. The company announced the CEREC system is now open and dentists can export data from their CEREC Omnicam scans in STL format, broadening the applications of the system. The corresponding software licenses will be available at the same time as the new CEREC SW 4.5. 

“The provision of single-visit dentistry with CEREC does not need an open file, since CEREC is complete as it is. However, we’ve seen in the last few years that many other clinical applications are being used in the practice and customers are asking to use their CEREC digital impressions in those applications,” explained Roddy MacLeod, Group Vice President Dentsply Sirona CAD/CAM. “The option of exporting the scan data puts our customers in a position of being able to use CEREC with additional solutions in a digital world that is becoming ever larger.”
