3Shape Revolutionizes Intraoral Scanners, Announces New Software

3Shape’s biggest news at the IDS was greeted with boisterous cheers from the crowd gathered for its press conference: TRIOS has gone wireless. 


The new TRIOS 3 Wireless intraoral scanner connects via WiFi to laptops and the TRIOS cart, eliminating the need for a connecting cable between the scanner wand and computer. Like all TRIOS models, the wireless wand has a button to navigate screens on the PC so there’s no need to touch the keyboard or mouse when scanning a patient. It also features an easy battery exchange and includes three long-lasting rechargeable batteries. 


On the software front, the company introduced several new offerings:



  • As part of upcoming upgrades, the TRIOS Patient Monitoring tool compares intraoral scans taken over time, tracking and quantifying conditions like gingival retraction, bruxism and tooth movement.
