“I offer free case planning on every restoration, whether it’s a single unit or full roundhouse. The size doesn’t matter; what matters is the patient smiling after treatment. The best way to achieve that is for the dentist and technician to get together before the case starts to communicate and advise each other on a restorative plan,” says Josef Kolbeck, Owner, Kolbeck Dental, a three-person lab in Bradenton, FL. 


“I plan about 80% of my cases with the dentist in his clinic; for the other 20% I design a plan on my own and get the doctor’s final approval. My case planning service includes: possible prosthesis options, shade taking, photographs, case design digitally via a CAD file and conventionally by talking with the doctor, study model analysis and being chairside when the doctor requests assistance delivering the final restoration.
