It’s not just multilayer zirconia that’s in the limelight. A new category of millable materials—Aryl Ketone Polymer (AKP)—is expanding CAD/CAM applications in the removable realm.
On the heels of introducing DD cubeX2 HS zirconia a month earlier at LMT LAB DAY Chicago, Dental Direkt unveiled the newest member of its zirconia line sold through DAL DT Technologies and Zahn Dental in the U.S.: DD cubeX2 ML. The multi-layer zirconia offers a strength of more than 800 MPa and a translucency of up to 49%. It consists of nine layers with a smooth color gradation from cervical to incisal.
Thanks to a partnership, Kuraray Noritake Dental Inc.’s CAD/CAM blocks will be millable in Dentsply Sirona’s CEREC and inLab systems. Dentsply Sirona will offer optimized milling strategies for Kuraray’s zirconia discs and new KATANA Zirconia blocks (that sinter in 30 minutes)...
