When Steve Szara, Owner of Szara Dental Laboratory in Northville, MI, started making orthodontic videos for YouTube, his goals were twofold: sharing his techniques and getting others to share in return. “As a one-man ortho lab, I was finding it difficult to find information on orthodontics and connect with other technicians,” he says. “Since I was already making a lot of my own YouTube music videos and connecting with other musicians that way, I decided to try it out for orthodontics, too.”
Since May 2015, Szara has created and posted 51 videos to his YouTube channel and garnered about 1,200 subscribers, over 150,000 views and more than 400,000 watch-time minutes. “It’s exciting because I have people contacting me from all over the world, from Belgium to Brazil,” he says. “They want to know more about my techniques and what materials I’m using.
