Full-Contour Zirconia Restoration Meets High Esthetic Expectation

The patient had one implant placed in the restorative space for teeth #25 and #26. Even though his other teeth were not completely uniform in color, the esthetic expectation was fairly high and he didn’t want a noticeable difference in shade. The doctor requested a one-piece, screw-retained restoration using an OEM implant component and pink tissue-colored restorative material; he provided patient photos to the lab.
Since the restorative space was minimal and didn’t leave enough room for porcelain buildup, we decided to fabricate a two-unit, full-contour zirconia restoration integrating one custom titanium abutment and used exocad software to design the case. The teeth were milled using Cercon HTML zirconia on the imes icore 350i milling machine, and we used Jensen’s MiYO® Esthetic Finishing System to stain and glaze and create a natural esthetic. The doctor and patient loved the result!
