Alexia Gausmann Takes First Place in 2019 Master Cup

After a four-year hiatus from denture fabrication and the workforce in general, Alexia Gausmann, a dental technician from Dortmund, Germany, took first prize in Panthera Dental’s 2019 Master Cup Competition, beating out the seven other finalists.


Upon hearing about the prestigious competition from her husband—who learned about it at LMT LAB DAY Chicago 2019—she immediately decided to enter. “I had been home raising my son, hadn’t worked in the lab for several years and was eager for a challenge,” says Gausmann.


The challenge? To fabricate a removable denture-on-implant case with a milled double-structure bar including three Rhein83 OT Equators for the maxilla and an Integrated Bar™ for the mandible. The finalists also had to present step-by-step process documentation for the case.
