Sustainable Dentistry: A Dominant Theme at IDS

As the IDS in Cologne celebrated its 100th birthday in March, one of the major themes—in addition, of course, to digital workflows—was sustainable dentistry. “As an industry, we have both a responsibility and an opportunity to make our care as kind to our planet as possible,” said Dr. Steven Mulligan, a dentist from Sheffield, U.K. and honorary clinical fellow and founding member of the FDI World Dental Federation Sustainability in Dentistry Task Team. “Prioritizing sustainable measures can seem like a daunting task for many clinicians, but there are so many actions that all of us can take each day to reduce our impact on the environment.”
