Prosthodontist Uses TikTok to Educate Dental Consumers

“Does that contestant on The Bachelor have veneers?”

That question, posed by a friend during the pandemic, was the catalyst that made California-based prosthodontist Dr. Sara Hahn start sharing her dental knowledge on social media.

Dr. Hahn—who practices in Fremont, CA, with her mother, also a prosthodontist—realized how little the general public knew about dental restorations and began making videos about celebrity veneers with an educational twist. “I didn’t want to make videos where I just said, ‘these veneers look bad’ or be one of those social media dentists that give you the ‘ick’,” she says with a laugh. “I wanted to use my expertise to break down the specific esthetic features of each celebrity’s smile, like tooth proportion and translucency.”
