My One-Day Stint as an Ivoclar Employee--and What I Learned

On October 29, I reported for duty at Ivoclar’s New Jersey location, where the company manufactures a number of products for distribution to the U.S. market, including IPS e.max® CAD blocks, IPS e.max Press® glass ceramics, IPS e.max ZirCAD® MT, Prime and Prime Esthetic zirconia lines and soon Ivotion® monolithic denture discs.
Positioning the company for continued expansion, operations from two adjacent buildings are being integrated into one state-of-the-art facility designed to boost production capacity and overall efficiency. It’s also starting to manufacture clinical products at the New Jersey location this year, including Vivapen® adhesive, and Adhese®, a universal bonding agent.
My onboarding started at 8:00am with breakfast, an introduction to the company by General Manager Louis Liu and a tour of the production areas to get a first-hand look at the meticulous methods used for manufacturing IPS e.max glass ceramics...
