To everything there is a season and this summer I lost my good friend and former husband, Rob Fisher.
Rob is the dentist behind LMT’s Partial Denture Experiment, all of our Crown Experiments and our Crown Challenge. For some of these I was the guinea-pig patient; for others he made the model with a fictitious patient in mind. For all these 35 years, he remained available to us for our many dentist-specific technical questions and regularly brought over articles from various dental publications to suggest we investigate for our own coverage.
At the outset, when I was starting the magazine, he stayed up with me into the wee hours of the morning reading through the lists of dental laboratory personnel hacked together from so many sources that there were literally thousands of duplicate names with slightly different spellings (like Joe vs. Joseph, etc.) and addresses that took months to organize and clean to build a valid mailing list.
