Cosmetic makeovers and implant restorations for full-mouth reconstruction are the lab’s specialty, so the shade-taking room featuring Vident’s Easyshade system is frequented by about 10 patients per week; the room is also used for minor adjustments. The new facility is a short train ride from Manhattan, and Smile Design has a driver that picks up clients and patients from the station and brings them to the lab. Although the owners can’t name names, they see their fair share of celebrity clientele!

The denture department: The benches throughout the lab are light beige for a bright, clean and modern look. Handler customized the open shelves to be two inches wider than standard, allowing technicians on both sides to use them.

The front office/reception area is open and airy.

Smile Design’s waiting area features a 175-gallon fresh-water aquarium with Arowana, Leopard Pleco, Discus, Oscar and Angel Fish.
