Just Nine Months after Devastating Fire, DPS Moves Back Home

Three years ago, Dental Prosthetic Services (DPS) in Cedar Rapids, IA, underwent a multi-million dollar renovation of its 16,000-square-foot facility. Then, in July 2018, a devastating fire destroyed most of the production area and caused heavy smoke and water damage throughout the rest of the building. After working out of a temporary location for nine months, renovation was completed right on schedule and the DPS team was able to resume operation at its original location in April 2019. Since they were happy with the 2016 renovation, Co-Owners Kris Van Cleve and Dennis Becker opted to largely rebuild the lab as it had been, although—with the benefit of hindsight—they did make some tweaks to layouts, materials and other features.
