Not too long ago, the use of monolithic zirconia in the esthetic zones was considered a no-no. But this is no longer the case: with knowledgeable hands and proper materials, you can bring these restorations to life. Monolithic zirconia saves time, minimal micro-layering is needed and yet you can achieve comparable esthetic results.


The following case illustrates how Ivoclar’s high-strength IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime Esthetic and the IPS Ivocolor ® stains and glazes were used to create beautiful monolithic restorations for a young policeman who had always been self-conscious when speaking with the public.
