How UltraThineer 3D-Printed Zirconia Veneers Mask Tetracycline Staining

Restorative Challenge
A 49-year-old female patient presented with tetracycline staining resulting from antibiotic use as a child (see Figures 1-2). Previous attempts with both at-home and in-office bleaching treatments rendered no significant improvement. The patient was happy with the natural shape of her teeth, but desired a conservative solution to lighten the color.
Treatment Plan
After taking a comprehensive case history, pre-op photos, radiographic images, intraoral scans and a detailed clinical examination, I proposed 20 UltraThineer 3D-printed zirconia veneers on teeth #4-13 and #20-29. UltraThineer veneers are fabricated with Boston Micro Fabrication’s (BMF) proprietary system comprised of its Projection Micro Stereolithography (PµSL) 3D-printing technology and 5Y slurry zirconia.
