Restorative Challenge
The patient presented with an implant on tooth #7 and a crown on tooth #8 as shown in this CBCT scan taken with Dentsply Sirona’s Galileos. Dr. Kunal Lal, Elk Dental Associates, New York, NY, and the patient wanted to replace them to improve the esthetics and provide strong, durable, long-lasting restorations. The initial plan was to restore #7 with a custom implant abutment and #8 using Celtra Press; however, that plan changed during the course of treatment as described below.
I opted for Celtra Press, a pressable material from Dentsply Sirona, because it offers an easy process to create natural-looking, durable restorations that blend perfectly with surrounding dentition. The material has a great flow and little to no reaction layer which shortens the working time.
