Twenty to 30 years ago, a fixed laboratory’s success was dependent on its skill and artistry. If you did nice work at a price point that fit well into the dentist’s fee schedule, creating a prosperous business model was pretty straightforward. As we all know, it’s no longer that simple.
Today, success is based on accepting the fact that change is continuous and exploring how to take advantage of those changes. It isn’t a simple or quick process, but it’s a necessary and ongoing one. The key for me has been to follow my personal credo, “change is inevitable, success is by design.”
