Business Bouncing Back for Labs and Dentists
Posted Jun 25, 2020 in Industry News
[June 24] As of the week of June 15, 97% of dental practices were open for elective care and patient volume was at 65% of pre-COVID-19 levels, according to the ADA’s Health Policy Institute’s latest survey. Simultaneously, many lab owners saw workloads quickly returning to—even exceeding—normal levels thanks to pent-up demand, patients returning for treatment and even a few new clients.
Their staffing needs have correlated to their production levels and as of the end of May, 38% of laboratory owner-respondents to LMT’s latest COVID-19 Impact Survey had all employees working as usual; another third were still bringing employees back week by week. Twenty-nine percent of lab owners had no idea when they would be able to bring everyone back to work and 14% acknowledge they may never hire everyone back.
