Bone Grafting, Titanium Bars Transform Patient's Smile

This was one of the most challenging cases I fabricated this year. The patient presented with severely neglected and failed dentition, inadequate bone for implants and an off-center midline. After his teeth were completely removed, the patient went through bone grafting procedures. After healing, four implants were placed in the upper (#3, 5, 7 and 13) and four in the lower (#17, 22, 27 and 30) and I printed a temporary implant-retained overdenture using 3D Systems’ NextDent 5100.
I used exocad’s DentalCAD 3.0 Galway to design two titanium bars and milled them using Follow-Me’s hyperDENT 9.1 software and the ARUM 5x-450 mill. I designed the final restoration in exocad, milled it in e.max ZirCAD Prime on the ARUM 5x-450 mill, then sintered and colored the restoration. Both the patient and I are thrilled with his new smile.
