Advanced Dentistry and Digital Technology Yield Extraordinary Results

I recently collaborated on a fascinating case with my in-house technician, Zach Olson, and Jonny Jakson, from Evolve Dentistry, Buffalo, NY. Our goal was to perform a full-mouth rehabilitation using a blend of cutting-edge digital technologies. The challenge lay in restoring the patient’s oral function in a predictable, minimally invasive manner while achieving esthetically pleasing results.


Initially, we used ModJaw, a digital articulator, to record the patient’s functional movements and hinge axis. This step was crucial for designing restorations that would require minimal post-operative adjustments. We followed this by using a Vectra 3D face scanner that offered invaluable insights for planning midlines and smile esthetics in harmony with the patient’s facial features. We then scanned the patient using 3Shape’s TRIOS 5 intraoral scanner.
