A Century of Innovation: Ivoclar Celebrates 100 Years

In 1923, Ramsperger and Co., a denture tooth manufacturer, was founded in Zurich. Over the next century, it would steadily expand, becoming a global leader in the fixed, removable and digital arenas and helping shape the future of labs and dental practices alike. This year, that company—now Ivoclar—celebrates 100 years in business.

Headquartered in Schaan, Liechtenstein since 1933, Ivoclar expanded internationally throughout the next several decades. The company now has 3,500 employees across 47 subsidiaries and branch offices throughout the world and is led by Diego Gabathuler, who became CEO of the Ivoclar Group in 2019.

Some of that expansion was spurred by a series of acquisitions; for example, it acquired Williams Gold Refining Co. in 1986 and, more recently, Wieland Dental as well as Kapanu, a company developing digital solutions for the dental industry.
