After dealing with the challenge of determining the design and layout, the lab converted a 450-sq-ft storage area into the removable department. “We knew we needed to first understand the denture production process before we were able to physically arrange the equipment in a logical order,†says Jimmy Durham, President.
In 2010, when the owners were first starting the removable department, Jay Sober (seated), a trainer from Ivoclar Vivadent, visited the lab to demonstrate denture techniques. Each owner brings unique strengths to the operation (from l. to r.): David Fitch, CDT, Vice President, manages production, implants and client contact; Jimmy Durham, President, implements new products and handles business forecasting; and Alton Trotter, CDT, Vice President, is the quality control inspector and responsible for OSHA issues.
