Creating the Virtual Training Course
When BonaDent were at the market test stage of their on-site training they set up a FaceBook page and released the info through a group. They got a really good response but were restricted to the number of attendees due to the geographical distance. I suggested that they also stream it through a webinar and include a virtual audience. The response from the group was surprising with a lot of support from members to attend the training through a webinar.
It's not as difficult as one might think. For the training/educational session the coordinator needs to prepare the slides and notes for comments for the presentation and webinars can be set up the same way. For some, thinking of doing a webinar includes getting a high def digital camera, audio equipment and some tech guy to ensure that all goes well. Those things help, but the same professional message can be communicated through a laptop with internet access.
There are many tools you can use that also come with a consultant to help you design your presentation to optimize the webinar aspect without impacting the actual presentation. Goto meeting, anymeeting, megameeting etc. are all systems that do all of the back end work for you, while you concentrate on the presentation.
So how do you make money while doing the presentation? If you have a combined presentation of people attending your work and people watching on-line you have additional overhead expenses, the venue and the webinar costs. A little extra money would be great to cover the costs of the webinar aspect. As well as increasing your audience which you may be selling the training course to, webinars afford the ability to bring in sponsors and advertising. A little intro with a special thanks to the people that made it possible and a sign out with another mention can be the difference between an additional cost and an additional revenue source.
What ever your training or education course there is a web solution for every situation. I was streaming live feed for the Olympics to watch all the Judo divisions - it was great! It's so easy and convenient for the attendee and solves a lot of barriers that would normally stop them from attending.
Hope this conjures some thought in regards to training and education courses. I know there are a lot of different courses/presentations out there giving really great content. It would be great if we could amplify that message.
