Why This Lab Owner Starts His Day at 4:20am

In this new series, LMT takes a very detailed, personal look at one day in the life of a laboratory owner or manager. First up: Jason DeFranco, CDT, Co-Owner of Team Solutions Dental Lab in Sanford, FL, who generally works 16-hour days and is seeing his hard work pay off. In five years, the full-service operation has grown from one employee to 65 with $7 million dollars in sales. Here’s an inside look at this busy lab owner’s day.

4:20am: My alarm goes off, hit snooze. Think about waiting for it to go off again, think better of it and get up. There’s a lot to do today.

4:25am: Get up, shower, let the dogs out, break out my morning Mountain Dew^®.

5:15am: Jump in the car and head to work.
