Technician Teams with Dentist to Put Patients First

After six years of managing a 40-person lab, Marius Vincze, CDT, was ready for a change. His friend Dr. Courtney Lavigne—whom he had trained at the lab while she was a dental student—was building a new cosmetic dental practice and they decided to team up and incorporate an in-house laboratory. Together, they designed and built the 1,600-sq-ft practice and 120-sq-ft laboratory, which Vincze rents from her. Last August, MV Dental Studio and Courtney Lavigne Dentistry celebrated their grand openings in Wayland, MA.
Since Vincze wanted to maximize every inch of the lab, he first chose his equipment—including ovens, a sandblasting unit, two suction units and a porcelain furnace—then his wife, Petra, who is the lab’s office manager, worked with a local cabinet maker to design the benches and cabinets to fit around it.
