After 11 years of working in a variety of different laboratories and feeling like he wanted more control over his work environment, Taylor Stutz took the plunge in 2021, quitting his job at a local boutique lab and opening Digital Stitch Solutions LLC. He opted to focus on design services, largely for other laboratories, because of his expertise as well as the low start-up cost and minimal ongoing overhead.
He spent about $8,000 to get started, using his own money and a small investment from his father. He renovated a room in his house, purchased an ILTPRO High-Performance Laptop Workstation and exocad software from Imagine, and hit the ground running.
LMT: What have been your biggest challenges?
