Stronger Together

In 2014, Jeff Hayes, CDT, a 30-year industry veteran and owner of Natural Dental Ceramics in Sacramento, CA, was struggling to get it all done. “As a one-man C&B laboratory, it was all on me: getting the work in, managing the schedule, handling client relations. Some weeks I was working 80 to 90 hours.” 


Just five miles away, another industry veteran, Janice Beeler, CDT, owner of Genesis, was in a similar situation: as the sole proprietor of a busy full service operation, she sometimes struggled to get the work out. 


So when the two met at the office of a mutual dentist-client, they realized they had a lot in common. “It was serendipitous,” recalls Hayes. “We were both sole proprietors in our 60s and we started talking: rather than struggling and wearing ourselves out, why not team up?”
