As laboratory owners were making plans to reopen or get employees back to work, the pandemic had them rethinking nearly everything they do in order to follow guidelines, reduce risks for themselves and their staff, and ensure dentist and patient confidence. Sharing safety protocols with employees. New England Orthodontic Lab, Andover, MA, prepared a comprehensive Return-to-Work Action Plan that employees were required to read and sign before returning to work. It outlines state and federal guidelines, risk assessment and response, responsibilities of management and employees, and new policies and procedures. “It illustrates our ‘new normal’ but we have our fingers crossed that we can get back to our ‘old normal’ someday,” says Christian Saurman, CEO.
