NBC Substantially Overhauls CDT Exams to Ref lect Industry Changes

In order to integrate digital technology and to more accurately reflect real-world caseloads, the National Board for Certification (NBC) has completed a comprehensive, two-year-long update of the CDT exams.
“Dental laboratory technology has seen and continues to see such tremendous change. Although the CDT exams undergo a revalidation process every five years, it was apparent during this most recent effort that the NBC needed to be more in line with what’s being done in the industry,” says Rachel Luoma, MS, CAE, Chief Staff Executive for the NBC. “As a result, this has been one of the greatest overhauls of the exams in the last 20 or 25 years.”
