Monday Morning LAB DAY Recap

I’m just back from LMT LAB DAY Chicago, sitting at my desk, drinking the strongest coffee I can find. It was a whirlwind five days; I’m tired, but exhilarated by all the positive energy and product launches at the show. Here are some highlights from my LAB DAY diary:
Wednesday, 5:30pm, CNC Meeting: Bob Long, Executive Director of the CNC Group, graciously invited me to the meeting. If you haven’t heard of it, CNC is a buying power group of independent laboratories; right now, it has about 60 members and it’s growing quickly (see page 28 for more details). The hot topic: the M1 printer from Carbon, a new player in the dental laboratory industry. Rather than repeated layering, the M1 printer “grows” objects from a pool of resin using Continuous Liquid Interface Production or CLIP. Introduced simultaneously at TED 2015 and in the...
