How We Grew Our Surgical Guide Business

In 2011, our laboratory began offering surgical guide services. As this segment of our business grew, we became well-known for our expertise and, since we used Straumann’s CoDiagnostiX software, we established a great relationship with many representatives at Straumann. When other labs purchased the software, the company often gives our name as a resource for troubleshooting or advice.

In 2015, Straumann connected us with Ken Lepore, who managed a company that offered many of the same services we offer—including virtual planning and printing surgical guides—to dentists in Florida and they were looking for a new laboratory partner to fabricate their surgical guides, do virtual planning and conduct treatment planning sessions.

It was an ideal opportunity for our laboratory to expand this part of our business so, later that year we formed a separate company, Precision Guided Surgery, LLC, that offers the same surgical guide services we offer...
