In 2014, my parents decided to retire and my wife Amanda and I bought their eight-person laboratory, a high-volume, full service operation they opened nearly 30 years earlier. I had been working there as a denture technician since 2000 and would handle the technical side of the lab, while Amanda, who holds a degree in accounting, would handle the business end.
