How to Reduce Stress in 10 Minutes or Less

Long days in the lab, rushing to meet deadlines and working on difficult cases can wreak havoc on your body and your mind. Here are easy ways to reduce stress in just minutes:
Stretch. Getting up from the bench several times a day and doing a few simple stretches can help clear your mind and release muscle tension. (For some easy stretching exercises, see page 78.)
Get Some Sun. If it’s a sunny day, take five minutes to stand outside, close your eyes and get some Vitamin D. Changing your environment can go a long way to help reduce stress and clear your head.
Do a Mental Purge. A lot on your mind? Taking a few minutes to write down what you have to do will help you organize your thoughts, prioritize your day and declutter your mind.
Take a walk. Ten minutes isn’t enough for any serious cardio or fat burning, but taking a quick walk around the building can help get your body moving...
