How to Fabricate a ClearMet Partial Denture Framework

Removable partial dentures have made a resurgence recently, thanks to higher insurance reimbursement rates, the economy and the prevalence of 3D printing. While there’s still a need for metal frameworks for certain indications, other viable options including nylon-based flexible partials and thermoplastic partials are growing in popularity.
One of the newest materials on the market is ClearMet, an injectable clear thermoplastic resin from Keystone Industries. It’s biocompatible and durable and patients can enjoy a lightweight partial without a metal taste or undesirable metal clasps.
The manufacturing process is a simple waxing, spruing and investing procedure; the case is then injected after wax elimination. The clear frame can be finished easily with traditional carbide burs and stones and then polished quickly with pumice and a buff.
