Game Changers

For decades Elon Musk was determined to turn auto manufacturing on its head with electric cars. He did help spark a movement but has not been able to create the radical change he’d hoped for. Nevertheless, now charging stations are popping up everywhere and a multitude of car manufacturers offer hybrid vehicles. Still, the market for electric cars isn’t really “there”…yet.


It is similar to the way our community has long been anticipating how 3D printing technology will change restorative processes. While it’s been with us for a number of years now, it has a way to go to really be “there.” But we are getting closer: a new printable material for final crowns was introduced at LMT’s LAB DAY Online Spring 2021 event and I imagine there will soon be additional similar materials. 


The thing is, it’s hard for me to really feel the level of excitement any of these new materials create without the palpitating...
