Five Keys to Success with Digital Technology

A panel discussion on Friday offered insights from experts on going digital. “A really good technician in a traditional fixed lab averages 3.75 units a day and generates an annual revenue of $140,000. In a digital fixed lab, an average to good technician can complete seven to eight units a day and produce $200,000 in annual revenue,” Chuck Yenkner of Business Development Associates told attendees at Whip Mix Corp.’s third annual Survive or Thrive Digital Forum.
One of several speakers who underscored the rewards of going digital and offered advice on technology implementation, Yenkner also offered five tips for success when purchasing new technology:
1. Stay committed to the process. “If you’re going to buy that new scanner or mill and then just let it sit in the corner and play with it when you have a chance, then save your money and your time,” he said.
