Dan Elfring, Master CDT: U.S. Air Force

After 28 years, eight assignments and countless supervisors and positions in the Air Force, I genuinely feel my dental technology training prepared me for a successful and rewarding career. Every base proved to be fulfilling in one way or another but a few assignments really stand out:
- One of my earliest assignments was at Luke Air Force Base (AFB) in Phoenix, AZ, where I worked with Dr. John Zurasky, who was fresh out of the Air Force Prosthodontic Training program at Lackland AFB in Texas. He, more than any other person in my entire career, taught me about dental laboratory materials, procedures and doing things the best way possible.
- At Wiesbaden Medical Center in Germany, I worked at the Wiesbaden Area Dental Lab, the largest lab in Europe. We had a diverse group of over 60 technicians from the Army, Air Force and U.S. Civil Service as well as German Nationals. It proved to be a great learning environment.
