Astra Tech's Michael Reina Raises Over $50,000 For Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
Posted Aug 09, 2011 in Industry News
Astra Tech Dental District Sales Manager Michael Reina recently competed in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Long Island Chapter's "Man & Woman of the Year" campaign, a spirited competition in which participants use their leadership abilities to raise money for blood cancer research. Reina was the campaign's runner up, having raised over $50,000 of the estimated $300,000 campaign total, and will have an LLS-funded research grant named in honor of his extraordinary efforts.
For Reina, the cause has a particularly personal meaning: his Godfather and uncle, John Ruffino, lost his battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in April, 2010. His participation in the campaign honors his uncle's legacy.
