What We Do on Our Summer Vacation

It was the winter of 1988. LMT was four years old, housed in Judy’s basement and we published nine issues a year.
I was working with Dental Lab Review’s Buyer’s Guide to find manufacturer/supplier contact information using an old dog-eared copy as Dental Lab Review was no longer in business. I said to Judy, “We need to publish our own buyer’s guide.”
Her brother, Bob, quickly developed a database program for us (programming was his hobby, not actual career) and we created a paper listing form for manufacturers/suppliers to complete that we then had to manually enter into the database program. Thus our 10th annual issue was born, with the first LMT’s Buyer’s Guide published that August.
