  • Change the rag buff and apply a high-shine compound paste such as Blue High Shine, Green High Shine or White/Pink Shine.

Dip the partial in the water once and then lightly press the partial to buff section by section.

5 Use a different rag buff for each polishing paste.

  • Place a bowl of water near your station and dip the partial in the water and then press firmly onto the rag buff for two seconds. Repeat this process for about one minute per section. At this point the partial should start shining.

  • 4 DON’T use a high-shine compound immediately after pumicing; instead, use TCS Brown Tripoli and then use a high-shine compound such as TCS Blue High Shine. Here’s the procedure:
Apply enough Brown Tripoli to the rag buff until it turns brown.

  • Apply the muddy Polycril to the partial every two seconds for about one minute per section.

  • 2 To achieve a mirror-like, high shine, don’t polish a TCS flexible partial-like acrylic:
Rather than polishing the partial all over in a quick and rapid manner, separate the polishing into sections, spending at least one minute per section.

3 When pumicing, use Polycril and make sure it’s mixed to a muddy consistency.
Use Polycril with a TCS Turbo Buff. Use your fingers to protect the teeth. For detailed instructions on how to use Turbo Buff, view the demo video at www.tcsdentalinc.com/sitepage/labs.

  • Use a Robinson Brush (in a horizontal motion) to highlight any spots you missed with the rubber wheel.

  • If you’re using a new rubber wheel with sharp edges, round the edges with a truing stone before using.

  • 1 To achieve a partial with a smooth satin surface prior to polishing:
Use TCS Brown Rubber Wheels to evenly smoothen the entire surface of the flexible base, including the edges.
