3Shape Launches New Products, Making CAD/CAM More Affordable

3Shape had been keeping its new product developments under wraps for months and during its MidWinter Meeting press conference, Vice President of Product Strategy Rune Fisker excitedly announced the world premiere of the E scanner series—including the E1, E2 and E3. “They deliver the advanced scanning features and precision CAD/CAM workflows 3Shape is recognized for, but at a more affordable price,” he said, noting the scanners have two 5-megapixel (MP) cameras, model and impression scanning capabilities, and an Auto-start feature that initiates scanning as soon as the model or impression is placed inside. They also have multi-line high-speed scanning for accurate detail capture; for instance, the scan speed for an arch in the E1 is 40 seconds, 30 seconds in the E2 and 24 seconds in the E3.
